From old part to first pull

    Match the number

    Read the number stamped on your old part, or the model and type code on the engine shroud. Type it into the finder and every card that lists it will stay on screen.

  2. 2

    Swap it in one sitting

    Most of our carbs and kits bolt on with a screwdriver, a 10 mm socket and twenty minutes. Gaskets and small parts come in the bag, so there's no second trip.

  3. 3

    Give it the first pull

    Fresh fuel, choke on, one good pull. Our carburetors are wet-flow tested and factory-tuned, so most engines catch without touching a screw.

Why engines stop, and what we make for it

Butom replacement parts for lawn mower, trimmer and pressure washer engines

A small engine needs three things to run: fuel metered cleanly, air that's free of dust, and a spark at the right moment. When one of those fails, the machine surges, stalls or won't catch at all. Butom's aftermarket parts are grouped around those three jobs, and each one carries the numbers you need to match it to your engine.

  1. Fuel

    Replacement carburetors and carb kits

    Stale gasoline leaves varnish in the jets, and that one fault accounts for more hard-start and surging complaints than anything else. Our replacement carburetors for walk-behind mowers, lawn tractors, pressure washers, snow blowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws and concrete cut-off saws are wet-flow tested and set at the factory. Most ship as a carburetor kit, with the gaskets, fuel line, inline fuel filter and primer bulb that age along with the carb.

  2. Air

    Air filters, pre-cleaners and tune-up kits

    A dirty air filter richens the mixture, so the engine burns more fuel and makes less power. We make pleated panel filters for push mowers, round and two-stage filters for twin-cylinder lawn tractors, and washable foam elements for backpack blowers. For riding mowers, our tune-up kits put the air filter, pre-cleaner, oil filter, fuel filter and spark plugs for one engine in one box.

  3. Spark & start

    Spark plugs, starter solenoids and control cables

    Some no-starts have nothing to do with fuel. A worn plug gives a weak spark, a tired 12-volt starter solenoid clicks without cranking, and a stretched blade or drive cable leaves a mower that runs but won't cut or move. These are the cheapest repairs in the shed, and our plugs, solenoids and cables cover the usual failures on MTD, Troy-Bilt, Craftsman, Snapper and zero-turn mowers.
