The short answers to what people ask most before and after a swap.
Will a new carburetor need adjusting?
Usually not. Our carburetors are wet-flow tested and factory-tuned. On handheld tools you may need to trim the idle screw by a small amount after the engine is warm. Most vertical-shaft mower carbs have no mixture screws at all.
Why does my kit include parts I didn't ask for?
Gaskets, fuel line, filters and plugs age alongside the carburetor. Putting a new carb behind an old fuel line or a clogged filter is the most common reason a fix doesn't last, so we put them in the bag.
The carb looks the same as mine but the linkage is different. What now?
Look-alike carbs are common, especially on STIHL blowers and ECHO tools. Match the stamp on your old carb to the "Replaces" list, and compare the mounting-hole distance on the card. If it still doesn't line up, see our wrong-fit page.
Manual choke or auto choke?
Several of our horizontal-engine carbs (GX240, GX270, GCV160) are manual-choke only. If your engine has no choke lever, it is probably auto-choke, and that carb won't suit it. The card says so where it matters.
How often should I change the air filter?
Paper filters once a season on a push mower, more often on dusty ground. Lawn tractors: every 25 hours for the pre-cleaner check and every 100 hours or yearly for the paper element. Foam filters on handheld tools can be washed and re-oiled until they tear.
Where do I ask about my order or a warranty claim?
Orders are placed and fulfilled by the partner store you bought from. Tracking, returns, replacements and warranty claims all go through that store's order page; we don't see order details on our side.
Why do the prices say "at last check"?
Prices change in the partner store through the day. The figure on our cards is the one we saw when this site was last updated. The price button always shows the current one.
